Northland Fishing Tackle's High-Ball Floater® Jigs are especially handy when the walleye are hanging around weedy or rocky bottoms. Constructed from Styrofoam, these durable floater jigs sport strong hooks and brilliant baitfish colors that lure fish like a magnet and increase visibility. Floater jigs are ideal for floating minnows, leeches or worms over weeds, moss and rocky bottom areas without snagging.

Rated 4 out of 5 by works as advertised these work just like any other heads but i liked the price and color better on these. June 12, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good jigs Northland floater jigs are good ones. I like the orange and chartreuse colors. Also, I think the black dot (eye) triggers strikes. I usually, always try to buy jigs with the black dot (eye). Northland are good fish folks, I like their attractor hooks: green/ chartreuse and orange. Noticeable difference in the bite sometimes ( more fish ). I always buy some Northland tackle when I am up north walleye or crappie fishing. Everyday fishing tackle, jigs and hooks that work. Recommended. By the way - I seen a huge 30+ inch walleye caught with a chartreuse Northland floater jig. One of the first times the fellow had ever fished, and he was a " professional angler " just like that. Good jigs. Worth having some in the box. August 29, 2008
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Tool for Lunker Lakers My Dad and I use these floating jigs when we go lake trout fishing. Let them down all to the bottom with your slip sinker and just wait for the lunkers to hammer your dew worm! REALLY FUN, REALLY EASY! March 15, 2008

These should work just fine with trout. I've used these with eggs.

These can be used for trout as well as a variety of fish. There is a good tid-bit on how to use these for lake trout in the customer reviews section.

When floater jigs where designed, they where meant to be used on bottom bouncer jigs for walleye, however, the uses for this bait as well as many others are up to the user.
