Works very well in the spring when Smallmouths first come up to the shallow water. There are times in the summer Bass will hit shallow Crankbaits and you cannot go wrong with a Thin-N.

Deadly bait on Pickwick Lake for Spotted Bass.
Particularly good in the Rootbeer color configuration.

Great lures. Perfect for getting up close to shore. I've had excellent results with the Blue Devil on bright days and upper 70's water. I'm fishing on three lakes with heavy competition from bass tournaments and I still manage to catch bass almost every time I go out.
