Pros: It definitely makes an older Maglite flashlight brighter, as well as making them have better battery life.
Cons: Though it does make the light brighter and last longer, it isn't the same as buying a Maglite that comes with the LED. I'm not sure why the newer models that come with LEDs are brighter, but they are. This is the only reason that I gave it 4 stars and not 5.
Conclusion: A good upgrade that is necessary for older Maglites.

this light lasts for a long time yet the reflector does nothing. great for close up work and perfect for survival. You still need to have a regular standard mini mag for long range though!

I purchased this upgrade about a year and a half ago and recomend it to everyone. I use my light quite often while wading my local rivers and streams at night. With this inexpensive kit it seems to have trippled the light output from the same body and batteries, and since I have purchased it I have not yet had to recharge the batteries in my Mini Maglight. If you have the Mini Maglight without this addition your walking around in the dark.

i love my new upgrade. hunting my old bulb just ate my battery life, but with the new bulb my batteries lasted all season. i even went out and bought a second upgrade bulb for my other maglite.
