Just picked up my prostaff for my 30-06. I had a bushnell that wouldn't hold a zero due to the recoil of the rifle. So far im impressed with this scope. It took me 9 rounds to zero, and the recoil doesn't affect the scopes settings. Now im looking forward to testing it in the field during my elk hunt.

I think I'm done with Nikon riflescopes
It was a hard lesson to learn b/c I think they offer the best glass. I own three Nikon scopes: A Monarch, Realtree APG (Camo Prostaff) and this Prostaff model in 3-9x50. I've had to send two scopes off to be serviced b/c they would not hold zero...the Monarch and this model. Nikon warranty service was great. They cleaned and adjusted the Monarch years ago and I've not had anymore problems but that said, it rarely gets used. The Prostaff I bought last year would not zero out of the box mounted on a .243...contacted Nikon, shipped it back w/letter stating my findings and they sent me a new scope and a $10 gift certificate. I can't ask anymore from their warranty dept. but most important, I need a scope I can depend on.
Unless at some point Nikon publicly addresses this as a problem that they have worked to fix in their scope lines, I will purchase other brands of riflescopes in the future.

Check you ballistic charts, its dead on with standard 30 caliber centerfires( 30-06, .308) however its in the (killzone) pie plate out to 500 yds for all calibers. You just have to shoot it to familerize with your gun.
