Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 11 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great For Archery I was lucky enough to get this when it was on sale. It has worked very well. I gave it 5 stars because it is very sturdy and even after a couple of drops out of a tree stand it works like it did the day I took it out of the box. It does not go out as far as other, more expensive models do, so if you are a person that likes to make 600+ yard shots I would recommend a different range finder. However, this a great product for bow hunters January 28, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good not Great Out of the box this is a pretty nice little range finder. Distances are true line of sight distance (no angle technology here hence 4 stars) and quickly acquired. Holding the ranging button down allows continuous scanning mode which is great for marking several points at one time. The crosshair and numbers are easy to read, especially after adjusting the eye piece to the proper relief. Came with a nice carry case which was a surprise. For $250 (camo), this was a great deal but I really wish it had the ability to give true distance based on the angle you are at. If you're shooting significant archery distances out of a stand then this isn't for you, but for ground blind hunting this is perfect. Worked great in the snow after Christmas for late season hunting. Not sure what to make of the LED backlighting yet, it seemed to wash out the image in dim lighting but haven't actually used it outside yet. I would buy this again January 5, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by NOT THE BEST BUY FOR YOUR MONEY HARD TO HOLD AND ZERO IN ON SUBJECT. HAVE TO BE REAL STEADY IN ORDER TO GET A READING.WORKS PRETTY GOOD TWO HANDED, BUT YOUR NOT ALWAYS IN A POSITION TO USE TWO HANDS. NOT SURE HOW ACCURATE IT IS AT LONG DISTANCES. December 14, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Range Finder Just bought this for 2013 bow season. Haven't actually used it in the field yet but have used it when practicing with crossbow. Very accurate! The device seems very durable. Takes a little practice to get the eye relief figured out but will be valuable in the stand this year. September 12, 2013

It ranges up to 600 yards which is plenty for most people (which is 1/3 a mile and enough for most cases) and is great for archery as well. I use it for both.

The ProStaff 5 does NOT have angle compensation reading. Nikon calls this "tru target technology"... this model does not have it. Do not let the other answer here mislead you.
