I purchased these binoculars for an antelope & mule deer hunt I have planned for 2013 in Wyoming. I haven't used them out west yet, but I've glassed a few fields around my area, and they are very clear and focus nicely. I've been able to glass a field in excess of 800 yards across, and I feel I shouldn't have any problem accuratley judging game.
They only thing I don't care for is the cap that covers the portion of the binoculars where your eyes are closest to. Since we will be riding ATV's and glassing I'm a bit concerned about the dust getting on them... Other than that they everything I pictured. Bass Pro was even able to price match them since their biggest competitor was selling them $50 cheaper! Nikon Monarch 5 12x42.

I've had these bino's for about a month now. Only used them a few times. Took them bow hunting, they are a bit big for not having much space in a tree stand. Ive also used them to help sight in deer rifles, took a little ajusting but hey worked very well for spotting for my friend while sighting the rifles. I dont like the design of the covers for the eye pieces. I have the 12x binoculars. Over all they are are great for the price.

The older I get the weaker my eyes are and need an advantage. I have looked at these Binos for over a year and just decided to do it, real glad I did. I have not put them to the big test yet, blowing snow, sleet, early mornings, I will be soon. I have owned these for a month and been doing a lot of scouting and just impressed with the crisp view, "Nice Glass" Should have bought them last year.

yes, the rear lens cover is tethered.A:Â
no, i had the monarch 3 and returned them for the 5 and i definatly liked the lens cover on the 3 better. on the 5 it plugs into the case and will pop out if manipulated to much. with the 3 i wasnt worried about the covers falling off, but i am with the 5. the 5 is still better in every other way in my opinion.1 of 1
