Rated 5 out of 5 by paperpuncher Best bang for the bucks!
I just sighted in my second Monarch 3 4x16x42 Mildot, and I am now a confirmed convert. Only 12 shots to zero on a Browning stainless stalker 7MM Rem. Mag, at 100 yards. Time didn't allow longer shots, that will have to wait for a few days. 3 1/2 inches high at 100 yards, should be close to zero at 300 yards.
I have a "brand- X" scope on another 7 MM, and that scope is now for sale. (cheap)
The other 4x16x42 Mildot is on an Armalite M-15 A4T .223/5.56, and is used for varmints.

Well worth the money. Haven't used it for hunting yet, but at the range it is superb to my Leupold.

Very well made scope. Smooth operation of all adjustments. Very sharp, in-focus lens. What is also included in the box are a set of tall target turrets and covers that may be interchanged with the ones that come on the scope.
Love the BDC reticle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Don't run, you'll just die tired Good value for the cost
The reticle is thick which I'm not the biggest fan of for field of view and view of your game but for the cost the clarity is exceptional even cranked up to 24 and it comes with a few surprises like the sunshade and scope covers which aren't the best quality but they do the job. I wouldn't recommend this scope for smaller game or short range in dense foliage as its minimum is 6x and the cross hairs aren't terribly fine.
But if you're like me and hunt elk, moose and bear and take most of your shots between 250 and 500 yards its excellent value. I'd also have this scope mounted before deciding to purchase to see if it works with your bases and rings as the tube is extremely short and it doesn't leave much room for adjustment. Mine mounted up right against the objective as it starts to flare out and back up right against my zoom adjustment, if my bases were a millimetre farther apart it wouldn't be mountable without changing bases and or rings. I have this scope mounted on a .300 win mag with Weaver bases and Burris zee rings. I was also able to use a medium ring which was surprising considering the 50mm objective, the tall ring set the scope far to high above the barrel. Definitely shoot at the range and figure out exactly what the drop compensation markers are for the ammo you're shooting, I zeroed at 200 to get the most out of my markers at longer distance before guess work becomes a factor
