Rated 5 out of 5 by bowman GREAT SCOPE FOR MY ENCORE
I PUT A 4-14 SF ON MY ENCORE, 25-06 WANTED A SCOPE THAT WOULD BOTH WORK FOR VARMIT AND STILL ALLOW GOOD DEER COVERAGE, I AM BLOWN AWAY WITH THE OPTICAL QUALATY OF THIS SCOPE, JUST MAKE A TRIP TO ANY BAS PRO AND COMPARE A 300.00 NIKON TO ANY 1000.00 ZEISE, NOT EAVEN CONSIDERING PRICE AFTER LOOKING THROUGH IT, I PUT THE ZEIS DOWN AS MY EYES LIKED THE OPTICS ON THE NIKON, LEFT ME WONDERING WHAT YOU PAY FOR ON A 1000.00 SCOPE THAT THE NIKON DID NOT HAVE? ITS A LOST CLUE FOR ME AS NIKON IS AN AWSUM CHOICE!

Excellent rifle scope! I spent a considerable amount of time and two trips to the local BPS deciding upon which scope to mount atop my new Ruger M77 MKII (30-06). I finally let the advice of the counter person sway me toward this scope. Mounted the scope and went to the range. No adjustment to hit the bull at 25 yds, so I went to the 100 yd range and shot a total of sixteen consecutive rounds within 2 1/2 inches of the target bullseye. The scope surpased my expectations. The 1/4 inch MOA adjustments worked precisely and the glass is very clear and bright. This is a keeper!

Rated 4 out of 5 by longdistance not half bad
I picked up a 4.5-14x 40 w/ NP ret. for its power range and finger adjust turrets mainly for long range shooting and hunting. At 14x targets and deer/ antelope are still visible/ clear enough to aim at long distances. The turrets track well and will return to original zero. I have moved the zero between 100 to 750 yards and back with out fail. Being able to reliably move the zero for a specific range is worth its weight in gold by not having to "hold over" the target. The eye releif is a little less forgiving than other scopes but is still good. It has served me well on standard and magnum cartrages from the dark timber of the west coast to the sage flats of Wyoming and never skipped a beat.
