Rated 2 out of 5 by Won't fit Hoyt Bow I have always liked NAP products, but this one was a disappointment. I couldn’t mount the rest on my Hoyt bow without grinding down the edges. I after I did get it mounted I couldn’t raise the arrow support high enough, so I had to tilt the rest up to get the proper arrow height. The arrow support is very wide which restricts how much you can adjust the center shot without the support touching the inside of the containment area. The fall away action does not have bearings, and seems slow and inconsistent compared with a NAP Smartrest. I couldn’t return it since I already modified it. I am switching to a Trophy Taker rest. Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing!! Before I bought this rest I was kind of a sceptic, was used to the Hostage rests, but my doubt didn't last for very long. I had a Bow Tech put this on for me and I can't believe how good it performs. Shot really tight groups right out of the box, very easy to adjust. Just another great product from NAP!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 by NAP Apache Ok this one challenged me a bit on my Martin Cheetah. I just made the big switch to FOBs so i needed the drop away. Man, I just wasnt tryin to shell out 100+ dollars on a rest ya know? Did a lil research liked the Apache because of the lower price tag and what it was about, decided to try it out. It had me scratching my head a little it was hitting on my cable guard! no biggie though... i cut about 1/4 inch off the riser end of my cable guard to bring the "s" curve in the cable guard closer to the riser. BINGO!!! got the clearance necessary to get the hood square to the riser shelf. Everything else was a snap the vertical and the centershot set easily and quickly, its solid too. nooo vibrations. Directions say you gotta serve the cord into the buss cable, I just used two little kisser button nocks. Got about 60 shots in on it now and wow! no kidding i had to stop grouping ruined two arrows!! Im within just a few mm of dead center every time! LAughing like a little school girl!!! Sniper BOW! December 15, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good Rest I just bought this rest and had it installed by a professional. I'm already a huge fan. Its quiet, improves the look of my bow, and I have not had any problems with fletching contact. My groupings got smaller by an inch as compared to the Whisker that was on it before. I almost paid the extra money for the QAD rest and I am glad I didn't. Great performance and great for the money. November 30, 2010

The drop away has a cord that is served into a compound bow's cable to raise it when drawn. I cannot see how you would usethis on a recurve

Set screw

Details:
The small set screw or grub screw how will it help support the unit if using the additional plastic back plate?

This screw does not have enough thread length to hold the unit, pass through the back plate & secure into the riser. Or am I missing somthing?

I had this screw break on me on the first pull on one of my bows. I contacted the company and let them know what happened and they were very quick on sending me a replacement. If you want to replace it yourself. Go to a DIY store and get a peice of all thread the same size at a lenghth you desire and make it happen. Being as you are located in the UK the second option is probably the quickest for you and not very expencive. This is a good rest

I am assuming it is already installed on the bow. In that case yes. The only issue is that some bows can not fit the Apache rest. I shot the Apache with my Monster 6 and ST Axis arrows with no issues. It is plenty fast falling out of the way.

I have not tried shooting FOB's on this rest but i dont see a problem with it. The cage around the rest is plenty big enough for FOB's to fly though and the rest has no fletching contact on my elite judge. I would think it would work fine for FOB's.
