I recently mounted a Lowrance HDS-8 on my center console bay boat. I absolutely love the HDS-8 and it's many features, but was disappointed in the quality of the pre-loaded mapping. For instance, one of the spots where I fish has an approximately 100 ft concrete breakwall coming out perpendicular to the shoreline. The HDS-8 mapping doesn't show it at all. Bad news if you're unfamiliar with the local waters. From previous experience with Navionics mapping, I was pretty sure the Platinum+ would include important details like that and it didn't disappoint! Very detailed, great quality! Photo overlays great for helping find skinny water in the back bays.

I got two new Hummingbird GPS fish finders and neither the base map nor the Navionics SD cards show all the fishing areas. I am on Joe Wheeler lake in Alabama and a lot of the favorite fishing areas (like Decatur Flats) are shown simply as shallow water which is not true. Both Garmin and Lowrance show these areas submerged creeks and humps from shore to shore.

The card shows everything it says it does but it's not much better than what the Lowrance has built in. $200 is waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much for this card and I hate the way they cut the sections so you have to buy two cards to cover the Florida coast.
It does what it says it will do and shows what it says it will show but it's just not worth the money.

the satelite images are poor not even close to google earth .i am disapointed as once you open the pack you can not send it back they through you the bait then set the hook after you open the packaging

A:Â
The 905P+ will have a larger coverage area and will cost a little more. There is no difference in the quality or amount of detail.A:Â
Unfortunately, we don't carry the 905P+, but this is the 905P+ description from the Navionics website:NEW JERSEY, DELAWARE BAY, CHESAPEAKE BAY, NORTH CAROLINA From New York Harbor to Cape Romain, including Philadelphia, Norfolk and bathymetric details of all Mid-Atlantic Canyons.
