From small boats to large crafts, the Smart Tabs SX automatic trim and stabilizer system provides unequaled performance with smoother and faster acceleration. The durable, maintenance-free Smart Tabs SX system improves fuel efficiency by up to 11%, while also improving handling by automatically adjusting to water pressure. At slow speeds, the Smart Tabs SX deploy downward to increase stern lift and keep the boat level, allowing the boat to plane easier and faster. At cruising speeds, Smart Tabs SX are pushed to a horizontal position but remain under load, creating ride control like shock absorbers.
Molded from rust- and corrosion-free composite materials, the easy-to-install Smart Tabs SX system uses a nitrogen gas actuator to hold the plates down during acceleration and provide lift to the stern. Plate size and pressure are determined by the boat size and horsepower at the time of installation. After installation, Smart Tabs SX can be tuned to your preference.

The trim tabs were very helpful, they helped the boat plane out quicker than any other product I have used.They also gave me more top end speed,better maneuverability, and fuel efficiency by about 5%.

bass pro shop put a set of these smarttabs on my tracker 165 pro which was very hard to keep on plane and was porposing very badly at all speeds,once mounted i took the boat out ,"what a difference they made even in high winds "it Great Product Thanks to Basspro shop & Naticus

This is a good product - it done everything we wanted it to do. Boat needed help getting on a plane and this did the trick. I think it also increased the horsepower somewhat and they are working well. We were worried that it wouldn't do the trick - but it has and is well worth the $$ paid.

Greg at Nauticus was very helpful in size selection recommendation and hull placement. Supplied video was very helpful and unit was installed with no difficulty. Performance improvement was immediately obvious and tweaking friendly. A very affordable fix in comparison to some other trim tab options.

I have a 2012 Bass Tracker 175TXW and am wondering which model to use on my boat and if they will help slow down the trolling speed of the motor? I have a 4 stroke 60 HP EFI.

Nauticus makes a troll tab for that purpose. "Pro Troller" you need the lever bracket that nauticus sells to replace the top stationary bracket on the smart tabs- it holds the tabs in a lower position for slower trolling.Details:Â

I don't think this will slow down your boat for trolling....I suggest you get one or two five gallon buckets, drill one inch holes around all sides and several thru the bottom....drag the buckets to the side of your boat with rope when trolling. They will drop your speed some. I drag one bucket on my boat so I can increase rpm's to a more favorable range while remaining at a slower speed for trolling..good luck

Smart Tabs will not decrease you top speed unless you are running a light hull too small for the recommended hydraulic cylinders or tab bodies too large. Be sure to follow NaticusInc advice on sizing and piston strentgh. (60 or 80 pounds)A:Â

I haven't noticed much change with uneven weight listing while at high speed, but my boat was pretty stable to begin with. I'm sure they help, but not as much as you might think.Answers

You won't need the cavitation plate hydrofoil devices of any kind-- it is not recommended that you try to use both- they work against each other.. The tabs will make you wonder why you ever used the hydrofoil.A:Â
I'd say yes. They mount on the outside edge of the transom. I don't think you'd need the Hydra Foil with Pro Trollers.A:Â
I am John From Nauticus / Smart Tabs and will be happy to help you or any other consumer with technical questions.A hydrofoil is an additional planing device as are Trim Tabs of any type. It is never a good idea to add two planing devices, especially those which can not or are not adjustable. Because the Hydrofoil is a fixed device it will lift the stern at an increasing rate as the speed increases. This in combination with trim tabs will drive the bow into the water creating handling problems such as listing to the left, laying over hard in turns, and bow steering (wandering).
Trim tabs are more effective since they start in a deployed position (angled down to get more lift sooner) and can be adjusted to the needs of the individual boat.
In short - do not use both.
