Muzzy® MX-3 Fixed-Blade Broadheads or Replacement/Practice Blades
- Hardened steel TroCar Tip
- 1-1/4'' cutting diameter
- Blades interlock in aluminum ferrule for additional stability
- Vented .025'' stainless steel blades
Muzzy® MX-3 Fixed-Blade Broadheads are the latest edition of the short-profile MX series. Their ''bad to the bone'' reputation is a direct result of the hollow-ground Trocar tips which feature a 1-1/4'' cut for maximum damage and a clear blood trail. To increase strength, all three .025'' stainless steel blades interlock within the aluminum body.

Rated 5 out of 5 Bad To The Bone!!
I'Ve used Muzzy broadheads for about 13yrs and will never use any other. I've shot numerous deer with other Muzzy broadheads but I think they have outdone theirself with this one. They fly streight, hit hard (so hard that I've broken several ribs of the deer I've shot) and cut clean. You can't go wrong with these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JP awesome product
I have used mechanicals for years for their field point characteristics and haven't tried many other heads. I decided to try these mx-3 heads about a month ago and i loved them. I am shooting a mathews drenalin at 280 fps and there is no planing problems. In fact, they are shooting as good if not better than my field tips. I like them so much that i bought another half dozen for the coming season. Thank you Muzzy!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tarponnut A Great broadhead!!!
I've used these heads on two wild hogs this year and have had excellent results.
They fly straight, are very tough, and sharp.
Both shots on the boars were pass throughs(62lb draw weight, carbon arrows)that left great blood trails.
I replaced the blades, as I always do, but they probably could have been re-used as is.
No wind planing at all with the short ferrule.
I plan to use them on a 'glades whitetail this fall, excellent product.

Which is better the larger cut or the extra blade???Answers
A:
I personally switched from mx-4 to mx-3 as the 3 blade tuned better for me. In terms of killing power both will work the same. I have had no issues with 3 blades doing the job. Larger cutting area = better change to hit more vitals.A:
in my experiment i think that the larger cut is beater for hunting deer. there is the first punch of the shot so is should go in no matter how many blades. the larger the cut the more dammageA:
I like the 3 blade better but i know people who use the 4 blades who have awesome results on them aswell. Id say get whatever you like because theyre both gonna kill the animal with a good shot everytimeA:
larger cut is much more importantA:
Well, it depends what you are hunting. For big game i would recomend the 3 blade eith more penetration, for deer and other game like that you can use the 4 blade. With the 3 blade you can hunt everything.A:
I would say the larger cutting dia. for sure.A:
KathleenMy experience is with the 3 blade (MX3). I chose the 3 blade because it is a very stable flight design and pass through cutting patturn. One extra blade may be better. However, the 3 blade (MX3) is so effective at killing deer that I don't know why I would need the MX4. More is not always better. Think of a pyramid or triangle verses a square. Which is more stable?
A:
Larger cut. As long as all the blades are sharp, 4 blades aren't better than 3 and the 4 blades sometimes plane when 3 won't.A:
I use both and have the same effect.Images for this Answer

honestly you cant go wrong wit either but i shoot the 3 blade and love the in the 100 grain it just depends what flies better with your arrows.A:
The one that flys better from your bow. When I used to use these the 4 blades flew better for me. Blood trails were about the same. Both blew through deer easily and stayed together well. Blood trails were decent with good shot placement. I shoot only Magnus Stingers these days. Muzzy's are good, Magnus fly better for me.Answers

Yes, comes with three blades good for one practice broadhead.A:
yesA:
No..but you can purchase a pack of practice blades that have a good amount of sets.A:
YesA:
Yes they did but they where milled incorrectly and would not allow the tip to screw on. So I shot the real thing and will not use them as they dont shoot the same as the practice tips. They where consistant to the same spot just not on target. I cannot return , I suppose, as I used them . But I saved them and the faulty practice blades in case someone from Muzzy company wants to look at them.A:
Yes. each pakage bring a set of practice blades. and thet fly trullyA:
yes, all of the muzzy's doA:
Yes, every new package of Muzzy broadheads comes with practice blades.A:

yes they have 3 practice bladesA:
Yes, they come with one set of practice blades per pack. However they do not fly anything like the actuall heads as they are not the same size or weight in some cases. I bought some replacment blades and put on the actuall blades tuned my bow that way and they fly greatDetails:
i've only killed i deer with a bow and it was with a spitfire, great broadhead just not durible, my dad is making me pay for all of my hunting things and i dont want to waist my money on something thats not worth hunting with.....Answers
A:
do yourself a favor and buy these, you'll never buy a different broadhead again! i shot 3 deer with the same broadhead last year. i promise you you wont regret this purchase!A:
very good. It's durable, accurate and very reliable. You can hunt almost everything with it. I hunt wild boar, fallow deer, roe deer and red deer with it. No problem. And i'm using the 100 gr.A:
Great for someone starting out. No worries about a mechanical failure and you'll get better penetration with a fixed blade. I would strongly suggest a fall away rest with these fixed blade broadheads. This is a great broadheadA:
Don't let the beginner thing get in your way. I started with Muzzy MX3s and killed 2 deer the first day in the field within 50 minutes of each other. So I guess you are not a beginner anymore when you have effectively killed your first deer with a bow. Remember most hunters never kill anything so even some of the old "seasoned" hunters don't know what you do about actually killing a deer. If you want a reliable broadhead for every hunt. Buy Muzzy. I will use them as long as they keep making a great product.A:
Muzzy is the only broadhead I use and I've been bowhunting for nearly 30 years.A:
They are a good blade to start with, progress with, and grow old with especially if you are on a budget. There is no way you are “wasting” your money on these. Hopefully you will always be able to find your arrow and replace the razor blades, but if you cannot, the heads are less than $10 each. While it hurts to lose a $10 head on $10 arrow, being out $20 is not the end of the world. Better yet, find the arrow and you are good to go for the next hunt!A:
go with the 3 blade there awesome man in 100 grain and really durrable.Top 500 Contributor
A:
Yes these would be. this is my first year bow hunting and they are very durable. They aren't expensive either so I would say yesA:
if you want a dependable head the muzzy is it. I've shot through a spike once. I broke 2 ribs on the right side, got both lungs and the liver and a TOTAL pass through. I couldn't find my arrow that day, but my dad found it two days later 20 yards past where i had hit the deer. he then stepped it off. I had made nearly a 50 yard shot on it, so a total arrow flight of nearly 70 yards. I could have used the blades again, but i regulated them to my practice blade supply as I only practice with my broadheads.Top 500 Contributor
A:
This is a great broadhead and is very reasonably priced. It is the first broadhead I shot and after experimenting with other broadheads I will continue to shoot the Muzzy MX-3. I used them as a beginner and would recommend them to anyone.A:
I think that for the money these broadheads are a good broadhead. I personally have used muzzies since I started bowhunting four years ago and haven't had a problem yet.1 of 1
