Muzzy ......bad to the bone. Buy this product. An you will be pleased. I tried a few others when I first started shooting Braudheads. Muzzy was the first pack I baught why cause. They. Looked "cool".... LOL Muzzy Live's up to its name (bad to the bone)
Would recommend this to a friend in a heart beat.

If your not shooting. Muzzy then your not bad to the bone.

This is a great broadhead. my only complaint is that they do not fly as well as I hoped. But after a month of trying to properly tune my bow, I just decied to move my sight., which worked well. Opening weekend I shot a decent eight point. He made it about 0 yards because of a high shot on my part I hit high shoulder, and had to put another arrow in him (lots of blood). when I pulled the arrow out the blades were bent, but the ferrule and tip on both heads were still perfect. Great head, but now I shoot Rocket steelheads so I don't have to move my sight when going from field points to broadheads.

vvery because if you shoot two diffrent arrows then they will fly diffrent. it may take some time to do it but get some crazy glue and put it around the screw in part of the broadhead and then screw it in then you will ever have to do it againA:Â

Recommend you take your bow to a professional bow shop to assist with setting your bow up and tuning. I have shot both 3 and 4 blade Muzzy's and all have shot to the same point of impact as field points for my bow. If shooting less than 30 yards I can even exchange between 100 and 125 gr. without adjusting sights. Since I restrict 95% of hunting shots to 30 yards this is never a problem.

I shoot a 80# Bowtech and they fly like field tips out to about 45-50 yrds after that my groups open up to about 1.5 inches which is still pretty d**n good. I almost always take farther shots on deer I dont know why I just always have. I do like the lighter grains if Im trying to plug a Buck across a field. If im just taking doe for meat I use the 125 gr they sound like a 45 when they hit deer lol. Great Broadheads. 1 more tip, I use a tiny tiny tiny amount of clear nail polish on the inside of the tip when I put them together seems to make a huge difference when its blowing through tough bone like bear shoulders ectA:Â

I want to get my dad some different broadheads for hog hunting. I'm wondering what grain you would suggest? He has a Horton crossbow with 150lbs draw. The blades he's using now couldn't tell you who makes them isn't cutting it.Answers

I had to reduce poundage from 60 lb to 51 lb and switched from the 100 gr. Muzzy 3 blade to the Muzzy 125 4 blade and got better penetration and blood trail. Try it or the new MX 4 blade for your dad. The 150 lb Horton is not an ultra fast crossbow so the MX designed for speed bows probably not needed. I would try the std Muzzy 125 4 blade first. Hogs are tough and the heavier broad head will penetrate better.A:Â
I would use the heaviest blades possible so that you take advantage of the horse power of the cross bow. I would not get hung up on having to have a 4th blade but that does not mean 4 blades won't work. The key here is to practice accurate shooting. As you know, a hog has thick pads on his shoulders that can cause bullets to bounce off. Shot placement is key.A:Â
you can't shoot a big fixed head from a crossbow. you will not be accurate. also, most mechanical heads can't hold up to the speed of crossbow and open in flight or come apart while hitting the deer.if you like muzzy heads try the mx series. they are designed to be more accurate at high speed. also, there are some heads, fixed and mechanical, specifically designed for crossbows that you might want to look into. the atom broadheads are another good choice out of a crossbow.
100gr heads will balance most arrows well.

The bigger the better for hogs. They have that thick armor, and it's tough to penetrate. I would consider a cut on impact, like the phantom.A:Â
i would say for hogs he needs the 125 grain. but if you get him the 100 grain it'll still do the trick

Crossbow users oftentimes get better arrow flight with HEAVIER than standard broadheads. 100 grain is the most popular size for standard bows, but there are two new broadheads from Excalibur and Sonic this year that are 150 grains and designed specifically for fast crossbow setups:Excalibur Boltcutter: item number 888-898-00
Sonic Bolt Sonic: item number 888-889-00
These heads are both 150 grain FIXED-BLADE heads. You may want to give them a try.
If the customer prefers an expandable head, then 100 or 125 is going to be the best choice.
