Mustad UltraPoint Slow Death Hook
Killin' em' slowly...
The Mustad Slow Death revolution is something that has improved my Walleye fishing dramatically. The revolution itself is nothing more than a new twist on old tricks, yet such a subtle difference in my presentation has made an absolutely stellar difference in the quality AND quantity of fish. It's obvious to see that this presentation drives big Walleyes CRAZY. Use this hook in any situation where you are trolling or drifting crawlers..lindy's, pulling blades, three ways or even slip floats. Speed (or lack there of ....) is the true key to make these baby's perform. These hooks are of the finest quality, as are all Mustad hooks. The only negative thing I can say about these is that the red paint comes off easier than most, but you if you're rigging these hooks properly then you'll know that the color of the hook doesn't matter.

first time using these hooks I caught I 29" walleye and two 26.5 " walleyes in the the same day, while no one else on the lake was catching. I use them on a 3 ft fluorocarbon leader with a red bead above the hook and a barrel swivel on the end of the leader to help prevent tangling. I have also caught splake, rainbow and brook trout the same way. I find this setup works best in clear water lakes

Used these hooks with a gulp pumpkin seed nightcrawler on a bottom bouncer. The slow rolling action is just a killer. I was catching walleyes 3 to 1 over 3 other guys in the boat. I had pounder gills hammer it too. The red hooks seems to be a bit more advantage.

slow death hooks
The hooks seem to be o.k. but if any impovement could be made it is the strength. However the the leader was strong enough you could probable straighten them out without loosing the entire slow death assembly. Leader line needs to be strong(8 to 10 lb line).
