I just recently started replacing hooks on most of my crank-baits with some of these that I bought from a BPS in my area, and I can honestly say they worked just as well as a hook should. I loved the size and look of these hooks on my crank-baits so well that I decided to put them on my top-water baits as well. THAT is when I noticed the miracles these hooks work. I put them on two brand new Zara Spooks in the #1/0 size, and my hookup ratio was increased tenfold, easily decimating any future use of out of box Spook hooks for me! I missed only 2 strikes that day, and had well over 20 strikes in total! The wide gap design allows for easy and almost guaranteed hook-sets, the size of the hook doesn't affect your lure action, and they are so strong that I'm almost dead set on ordering more to put on my all of my Muskie gear. I can see why KVD approves of these hooks, they are definitely professional grade. I'd rate them higher than 5/5, but unfortunately that isn't an option :( If you need to replace your treble hooks, go with KVD Elite Treble hooks, you won't be sorry!

The 2X short means that the shank of the treble is not a long as others on the market (almost twice a short!). One key aspect of this feature is one can typically increase the size of your hooks on a crankbait lets say and not have them tangle with each other. The 1X strong means that you get a heavier gauge wire of hook and they will not bend out on big fish or fish that you may have to get out of cover.

1x and 2x strong mean that the wire is heavier and the over hook is much stronger but also heavier... and if they say short they are talking about the shank of the hook... If you are using a short shank treble hook you can use a bigger hook and not have to worry about the hooks getting tangled together...Answers

I use the #2 but you can use a #1 not sure if basspro sells it but rule off thumb for me, I go one size bigger than factory and it doesnt hurt the action,but helps with hookups

The series 4 are #4 hooks, the 1/4 ounce (series 3) are # 6's, and the square bills are either $4 or #2, depending on wether it is the 1.5 or 2.5 model. But because the KVD elite series treble have extra short shanks, you can upsize your hooks. I recommend #2's for the series 4, #4s for the Series 3 (1/4 ounce), #2's for the 1.5 and #1's or #1/0s for the 2.5. However, I don't think BPS sells the #1's or #1/0s.
