this is a really good hook because it is so sharp as soon as the fish bites it it goes in there lip and stays in their lip i would recemend this product to anyone

I agree with all the other reviews about the positive characteristics of this hook. I use it on my walleye crawler harnesses. But I and several friends have been experiencing a problem with the hook breaking at the area just below the barb. We have had over 20 hooks break this year. Some break while fighting the fish and some while removing the hook from the fishes mouth I have written to Mustad concerning this problem but have not recieved a reply yet.

these hooks work great for craws the hook almost never gets dull and it keeps my craw on the hook and my fish on the line

Strap a poor, unsuspecting, leach onto this hook in an 8 or a 6 and you'd think he didn't even notice the hook! It's that fine, but still strong. I haven't straightened one out yet. I would like to catch the 15lb walleye that could do that but she's eluded me so far. I suppose that's what a soft tip and XL6# are for anyway. To protect that light hook.
The super wide gap seems to grab 'em on the way out no matter what. I love these hooks. I have hundreds in 8 to 2 sizes.
