This is the best hook for bream fishing with crickets. I have always used this hook and it is great because of the long shank allows you to easily get it out of the mouth and the bend part of the hook is flexible enough that you dont have to break your line if stuck in grass or a tree, just pull real hard with 8-10lb line and you will just bend the hook to release and then use pliers to bend back and keep fishing.

The long shank makes it very difficult for a fish to swallow the hook deeper than you can reach. It makes it possible for you to get the hook out without killing the fish.
