Rated 5 out of 5Â by CaptPabloCR Best/Strongest Circle hooks on the market
I've seen several complaints about the circle hook gap (complaint: gap not wide enough); these folks fail to realize that unlike all other fishing hook styles, THERE IS NO UNIFORM INDUSTRY SIZING OF CIRCLE HOOKS. These are by far the strongest circle hooks on the market. I use the 14/0 size exclusively live-baiting large tarpon on my boat on the Rio Colorado in Costa Rica - and now every guide in the area comes bumming hooks from me. I've never heard of a Tarpon bending one.The local Guides LOVE them because their clients no longer have to get a proper hook set to land a Huge fish. And that means better tips for them.

I typically use 9/0 or 10/0 circle hooks while cut bait fishing for large red drum & tarpon. After reading reviews saying these hooks are undersized, I ordered 13/0, which turned out to be the equivalent of 7/0-8/0 hooks. The gap is unbelievably small for a 13/0 hook. Otherwise they may be good hooks but I'm sending them back.

Not only are they the smallest hooks you will ever see in the size you purchase the whole pack of hooks I ordered were dull. the points were crooked or made wrong they are not sharp at all. I use alot of brands for catfishing and these are the worst I have ever seen. DO NOT PURCHASE MUSTAD.

Mustad Circle hooks, 39965D are just right
for Halibut in Washington State. There are no
standards for circle hooks so you will have to hunt around for the right hook and brand. I purchased 13/0, 16/0 is a "small hook" for commercial. You might have to buy one of several sizes to find what you need.
