Manufacturer model #: 50-119.The Mountain House product line of freeze-dried meals has been manufacturing backpacking / recreational foods since the late-1960s. Other brands of backpacking foods mix freeze dried and dehydrated ingredients in their entrees. Dehydrated ingredients cost less and do not have the superior flavor that freeze dried ingredients do. Dehydrated foods often require soaking and long cook times, while freeze dried entrees require only the addition of boiling water and a maximum set time of 10 minutes.

My husband and I first tried this one several years ago after struggling through many ice-fishing days of cold pizza and cold everything. We purchased a Jetboil water boiler and with the water filter, we could quickly supply the 2 cups of boiling water needed. Tear open pack, remove the dessicant pack, add water, stir, and zip closed for ten to fifteen minutes. Even I can do that in the ice shanty! And good, hot food really supplies needed energy.
So good to have hot, tasty, good food. We always have a bag of this or two in the cupboard or the food backpack. Once when the power went out, this was supper and so appreciated!
Minimal waste to pack out - bag zips shut flat, discards go right inside.
Great flavor for adults and a taste that even picky kids will like. Make sure you have some on hand for your next camping trip.
