After having a bear move into the swamp on our hunting property and tearing down the Tri-pod feeders, I purchased three of these feeders in the spring of 2012. The feeders performed perfectly once hung properly. We used a winch and cable system between two large trees to hang the feeders. Bear is torqued and has stopped coming into the feeders. The only drawback is the flat lid holding water after a rain. The battery lasted for a whole season on two feed settings.

Love this product. It was just what I need for where I am planning to hunt. I placed this feeder in a creek bottom on my property. Since this area is prone to flash flooding, a tripod feeder was out of the question. I use my 4 wheeler to raise and lower it. The ease of use of the timer is great! Timer also tells how much battery life is left. The steel barrel will keep the squirrels out for sure. Not like the plastic ones. I have had too many of the plastic barrels destroyed by squirrels and raccoons this product is just excellent. Plan on buying another one soon.

Product works great and is even Bear Resistant which we needed because the Black Bears totally destroyed a Plastic feeder on a tripod.
We now have two of these feeders and are totally satisfied

You can buy the Moultrie Feeder Mechanism and install it on anything you want to hold the feed. I use these Moultries and they have been very dependable for the last 10 years. I run a 6v solar panel so the battery will last me a couple of years, and that is with me feeding year round.Answers
