Rated 4 out of 5 by klaby great camera for the money
i bought this camera for recording my hunts. I had the epic camera but it was such a pain to get started and went through batteries like crazy, and the video resolution wasnt that great. This is VERY easy to use, and the camera can be off, and all you have to do is press and hold the video button and it will come on and start video. What I did find out is that if you are hunting and wearing on your hat, you need to cock the camera to the right, as that will then get your object in the video. But even easier than that, I taped the bracket that the camera slides into onto my stabalizer bar with electrical tape. works great!!! the video resolution is great and the ease of use of the camera is fantastic!!! great camera for the money!!!

Camera looks good but is worthless in the real deer hunting world. It is impossible to aim it at deer when mounted on bill of your hat unless filming at 2X or less. When mounted on hat it is very difficult to be sure which buttons you are pushing or if you depressing enough to activate the function. I hunted this weekend, tried videoing a doe and fawn all I got was the ground in front of them. Later a 4pt. came by stayed for a couple minutes and rubbed a tree I thought I had a great video, But I recorded nothing.

I just got this item today. I am very satisfied. The video quality is amazing but the more you zoom the more pixeled your picture gets. The same thing happens with the pictures. The camera in general is very easy to operate; just read the manual first. I just wish the lcd screen was on the back so you could see what you were trying to tape easier. I took it out fishing today and caught a few cats and was able to catch it all on tape. My only advice to you is to purchase a sd/sdhc reader and a sd/sdhc card. The reader is no more then 10 dollars and the card is fairly priced if purchased from the right place.

by Prairer360Hunter Very impressed with Reaction Cam
I’ve been looking for a small camera to take hunting. I ordered this online because the local BassPro Shop didn't have it in stock. Possibly because it was a new item. I received it today.
Moultrie did a good job not posting the manual to this camera on their website. I wanted to read up on its features before I bought it. No such luck. So I bit the bullet and took the chance it would be a good item. The bad reviews on the Epic cam cause me to bypass it for this one.
I'm very impressed with the quality of video and photos this small camera takes. High resolution video is 1280x720 and high resolution photos are 2592x1944. The video quality is very good when you don't zoom to the subject. It appears the camera uses digital zooming which causes the video to be granular when zooming to the max (8X). I would consider this a reason not to purchase this camera. Like I said, for its size it performs quite well.
I tried using digital camera AA batteries in the camera first but they were hard to get out of the camera because they were so snug in the compartment. I tried regular AA batteries and they were easy to get out of the compartment. Be careful closing the battery compartment lid. The locking clamps are molded plastic and can easily break.
I wish the viewfinder was located at the rear of the camera with the batteries being accessible underneath the camera. Placing the viewfinder in the rear allows you to see what you’re shooting.
All things considered, I’m very pleased with the camera.
