Picked up these nifty camo radios in hopes of having a superior product to communicate in the bush with. Fully charged as per instructions (charge 16 hrs, completely drain, charge 14 hours..) and was excited to try them out.
They work well, if the temperature isn't under 0 deg Celsius. BOTH radios simply DID NOT work in the cold weather. Unable to receive signal from other working radios, would not transmit (Screen blinks with all icons lit up, immediate cut off transferring.) on both High PTT, AND Low PTT.
if you are like me, and seen camo covers thinking "These must be good for hunts!" , save your money. I made the mistake of dropping $109.99 CDN at Bass for these radios - which will be returned (1 hour drive to get to bass..)
Again, they simply DO NOT WORK IN COLD WEATHER. Hunt inside your house i guess...as long as it is heated. Hopefully i can find another radio set that will work.
My friends MR565CR's worked perfect in the cold...may have to go that route (Still motorola product, so i am not trying to advertise another brand)

Rated 4 out of 5 by TomahawkXXL good so far
Havent tried them for distance yet, but all else seems to be great, with 1 exception. The earbud microphone dont seem to transmit with good clarity. after unplugging and using pushbutton on handset it was loud and clear. If using where you can speak loud this may work better, but I bought them for hunting.

Rated 4 out of 5 by vaulterdad good field communication tool
Batteries discharged a liitle quicker than hoped but overall a good communications tool. PTT and earbuds VERY handy for use when close to game. Have not tested distance capability yet over one quarter of a mile. Built-in light very helpful in treestand.
