The Xi5 Wireless Trolling Motor with Wireless Foot Pedal from MotorGuide is the result of an extensive commitment to design, engineer, and manufacture best-in-class trolling motors for discerning customers. Enjoy wireless capability right out of the box to command precise motor and steering control from anywhere on the boat. The Xi5 is stealthy quiet and silky smooth and is constructed to be reliable every day and durable over the long haul.
Durable and reliable, the Xi5 uses a composite shaft backed by a lifetime warranty. Electronics are fully encapsulated and impervious to water and dust. If the prop is stalled, a protection circuit prevents lower unit damage. A low-profile mount uses anodized aluminum, and hardware components and linkages are stainless steel.
Quiet on the water, the Xi5 uses precision steering transmission gears and low-friction bearings, an extra-rigid shaft support, and a low-vibration steering motor, plus refined component interfaces and a smooth-spinning 2-blade weedless prop.
The Xi5 is easy to use, with a unique mechanism that aligns and guides the motor into the stowed position and locks it in place. Other features include a secondary lock, easy-to-see LED lights in the dash for quick status checks, and next-generation digital technology for 50% more efficiency, a longer run time, and fewer battery charges. The trolling motor is great! They wireless keyfob works great. The anchor, route, and direction features are awesome. The only problem with these units are the foot pedals. They are don't sync or are DOA. My first one was DOA. MotorGuide sent me a new one ASAP, synced the new one, got on the water and it didn't work. No reponse at all. I use the remote 90% of the time but in some rivers/situations nice to have foot pedal. MotorGuide foot pedals are junk. I also feel like there should be an on/off button on the foot pedal (might be useful if/when it works).
Disappointed spending this much and not having it work.

motor guide rushed putting it out . we had problems 3 out 4 trips. first we couldn't get the foot pedal to install. Motor Guide/Atwood sent us a new foot pedal.
Second trip out, the trolling motor wouldn't run at all. Motor Guide had to send us a chip to re-program the GPS.
Third trip out we got to fish, but noticed problems with the anchor feature -
Fourth trip - we set the anchor and the trolling motor went crazy going round and round until one of the cables snapped in half.
