MotorGuide's® VariMAX® V55 Saltwater Trolling Motor with 20.8 Mount boasts a BluVis Digital multi-function display that shows direction, precise speed settings, and accurate battery voltage. With the digital advantage, VariMAX Edition motors provide quiet, smooth operation that lets you get closer to the fish. They are built with stainless steel shafts and components and undergo a multi-step paint process, so they resist saltwater corrosion. MotorGuide's Taper-Lock Mount features a proprietary tapered stainless steel pin that ensures solid engagement in all 7 positions. This Taper-Lock Mount features a one-touch, rapid slide-depth adjustment collar with a "no pinch" tilt mechanism for a superior transom mounting system. The twist-tiller hand control uses intuitive push/pull, forward, and reverse speed adjustments. Powerful 3.5" diameter VariMAX motors run cooler and last longer. Digital variable-speed control minimizes amp draw, so you can fish up to 3.5 times longer than an ordinary 5-speed motor.

  • Digital variable-speed control minimizes amp draw
  • Great White corrosion protection and durability
  • 1.25" diameter stainless steel shaft
  • BluVis integrated speed and battery indicator
  • Taper-Lock mount with 7-point adjustment
  • Extendable tri-lobe, soft-touch handle

beware I've had this motor for two years. I've had 4 heads replaced. When I called for an extension on the warranty I was told they would review granting an extension when and if I have to have it repaired again. It's just a matter of time before I'll be back for another repair. Not confident they will stand by their product. Should have bought a minn kota November 5, 2014
EXPENSIVE JUNK THE FIRST TIME I USED IT IN SALTWATER I HAD MAJOR CORROSION ON MY ALUMINUM BOAT AND OUTBOARD. THE SHAFT RUSTED AND PITTED. I THINK IT IS WIRED WRONG INSIDE. THE SHAFT HAS POSITIVE BATTERY VOLTAGE PRESENT. THE MOUNT ON THE SHAFT IS INSTALLED UPSIDE DOWN TOO, SO WHEN YOU STEER THE DEPTH CLAMP RELEASES. WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN FOR REPAIR THEY TELL ME IT WAS NOT REGISTERED. I SENT ALL MY INFO IN AND RECIEVED MY REBATE CHECK WEEKS AGO. HOW CAN THEY NOT HAVE MY INFO? DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS. GO WITH THE MINN KOTA. May 21, 2014
DO NOT Buy I have had this trolling motor for 7 months. I have used it 4 times other than that it has been in the shop for board problems. Too expensive to deal with this kind of trouble. Spend the extra few dollars and buy the Minnkota April 4, 2014
