Rated 1 out of 5 by Good idea bad result I got this motor 3 years ago when they first came out, used it 2 times and lost all power.Took it to the shop for warranty repair they said the board burnt out and that it was common.Used it for another year and descided to get a Big Foot button and then it happed again.Took it to the same repair shop and they said that you can't use a button on these VariMax motors they cause the board to burn out every time and that these motors were junk to go buy a Minn Kota. The motor works great when it has power and the board isn't burnt out. Rated 1 out of 5 by WORST PURCHASE EVER I purchased this 24V trolling motor early this spring(3-19-12) First motor had bad vibration, Second(4-15-12) motor had bad vibration and when i opened the box i extended the handle and it pulled off in my hand, Third motor(7-14-12) had a chipped prop, bad vibration, handle pulled off in my hand, loud noise started coming from it, the powerhead didn't line up with the lower unit and set screw wouldn,t hold it! Ruined my whole year of fishing so far with this poorley made motor! I'm 38 and have been fishing with, buying and using MotorGuide my whole life. LAST MOTORGUIDE I'LL EVER BUY!!! Dont waste ur time! BassProShops made it as easy as it could go. They didn't make the Motor July 15, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Don't Buy! In April, 2009, I purchased my first 45 lb. Motorguide Varimax trolling motor. First time out, motor would not turn off. Second time out, totally failed. Motorguide acknowledged a problem in the digital components and replaced motor with a new one. First time out, totally failed again. Motorguide replaced with 50 lb. thrust - Great White salt water trolling motor. First time in salt water, seals in head leaked and had to replace head. Also, bad switch and water leaking through handle into top head causing total shut down. I do not recommend any Motorguide product. I have since bought a Minnkota and have had no problems. Rated 5 out of 5 by Very happy January 2010 bought a used boat 14' aluminum V hull from a local dealer. At the same time I bought a new 12 volt,45lb. thrust. Used it this summer on local lakes(electric motors only.)Worked just fine, plenty of power for my boat, all the adjustmunts were easy to use.I just retired so I plan to use it a lot more in 2012. Very happy with it so far. December 14, 2011

I would recommend it. Just get the breaker from the Service Center. They only cost $9-10 compare to the big bulky one on the display that cost a lot.

I've reset my breaker many time. Better to be safer than sorry.
