Designed to have the longest run time of any motor in its class and the advantage of a precise variable-speed adjustment, MotorGuide's VariMax™ Hand Control Bow Mount Trolling Motors give you the freedom to fish all day with unmatched control of your boat—with the Digital guts to get it done, day in and day out. You’ll get up to 3.5X the battery life over 5-speed motors. And never have to settle for a little too fast or a bit too slow. Dial it way down and whisper through the shallows, or crank it up and cut through the wind with less amp draw than ever before. Fish longer, fish at exactly the speed you want, and fish more silently. And do it with the extreme durability of Digital.

Can't believe the difference from the one I had. Shaft is fatter than my other so I am going to have to modify my big foot 2 handle to fit around the shaft.

I find this motor to work very well for my applicatrion. I have a 21 foot jet boat and I have Fished bass tourneys for 17 years before getting this jet boat. it works well for what I need it to do, I just have to get used to the hand control instead of a foot control model, I do not have enough room in the front of my jet boat for a foot control model.
Happy Fishing...

When I had a Tracker and Nitro, they both came with Motorguide and I was pleased. Very disappointed in this motor. Sometimes when you turn the handle, the motor kicks off but the head still lights off. The head and the lower unit have been replaced under warranty. Still, if I get into weeds and turn to full power it will kick off, the head lights up; motor doesn't spin. Same as a previous review.

The shaft on the trolling motor is larger and I cant find a hand control to fit. I have checked several places and I still cant find one. I was told to buy one and file the hole larger to fit this trolling motor. I am sure they will fix the problem but for now I am a little unhappy for the amount of money I spent.
