MotorGuide Safari 2-Blade Weedless Prop
Disapointing trolling prop
Just bought one and installed it on my Digital Motorguide trolling motor. Went fishing the next day and was terribly disapointed. When you turn the variable thrust dial above just barely moving, the prop seemed to scream, if that makes sense. I pulled the motor up to see if everything was working OK. No noise out of the water. Changed back to the three blade prop and the noise stopped. It also seems to me as though the three blade has more power and speed. Don't really know how the two blade will perform in the weeds yet, but from what I experienced yesterday, I'll stick with the three blade and use the two blade as a just in case spare.

Noisy Safari Prop
I have been wanting to get one of the Motor Guide Safari props for a long time. Well, I went and finally purchased one and I hate it. The first time I used it, I was very disappointed in it. The thing makes so much noise it was almost unbearable. It was like a high pitched whistle that I am sure the fish heard me a mile away. I bet I could have communicated with dolphins or whales in the from the Potomac River to the Atlantic Ocean. Now, I am back to using my old chipped up prop.

This prop is totally worthless in the weeds. I would have given it 0 stars but that wasn't an option.I bought it just before going on a week fishing trip.
I spent more time clearing the weeds off it than I did fishing with it. When there was no weeds it was fine but I bought it to go into weedy areas. The weeds weren't even all that thick, I've used the competitors weedless prop and never had a problem. I'm selling my trolling motor so I can get one that I can fish with in weeds.

I had used a Minn-Kota trolling motor for a very long time with a prop similar to this one. When I bought a new boat it came with a Motor guide trolling motor with a small two blade prop. Even thought he boat was lighter than my previous one it was difficult to fish any type of weed cover because the prop would load up with weeds . I looked for several years for a similar prop for a Motor guide motor and finally found one. It seems to start smoother, no big yank on the mounting and cuts through the weeds very well. Heavy weeds will still load up after a while but far less and easier to get off. I fish alot with my brother-in-law who also bought a Bass Tracker boat only bigger than mine. He experienced the same issue so I loaned him my prop last year and he was amazed at the difference. Actually the one I just purchased was to replace the one I let him try out, he fishes more often than I do and I let him keep it.
