PROGRAMING THE REMOTES I LOVE THE WIRLESS FOOT PETAL AND FEEL THIS IS AN OUTSTANDING UNIT. I ONLY HAVE ONE PROBLEM.. I PURCHASED THE HAND REMOTE, BUT I CAN NOT GET THE REMOTE TO WORK. THE REMOTE HAD NO PROGRAMING INSTRUCTIONS, BUT I USED THE MANUAL FOR THE TROLLING MOTOR AND IT WILL NOT PROGRAM. June 17, 2006

There's a mount/strap(?) that will let you secure the remote to any fishing rod you use in seconds and let you operate it with the hand holding the rod, directly above the reel....makes sense, now I can't find it, anyone???

No it would sink, but you will be attached to your battery wiring so it should not ever be in danger of dropping.
