When the wind starts to gust, it’s time work the water with a Montana Fly Company® Clipped Head Hopper. A great representation of crickets, grasshoppers and stoneflies, the Clipped Head Hopper’s bulkier body sits low in the water which creates a very tempting target for trout and other fish that freak on hoppers and big bugs. This hopper pattern is also frequently fished as a hopper-dropper tandem rig. The beautifully crafted Clipped Head Hopper will produce anywhere, so grab a dozen or maybe two because you’re going want to throw them everywhere you fish. Color: Tan.
Best dry fly
This is my most used dry fly on the river, on windy days with trees above the hole I'm fishing, it's a great fly to use, and it's always awesome to see a fish come take a fly on the surface. These are just amazing flies. I've even had Fallfish destroy these things right as they hit the water.

Have fished this fly in a pond on a friend's land. I've got several large panfish as well as a couple of decent sized largemouth bass. Well tied fly that holds up to fish strikes.

if you live near a stream with trees over the water your in luck. The best way to use it is to let it go UNDER THE TREE AT THE BASE OF THE BANK.
