My brother gave me his boat with two 19ga tanks. He's hasnt install the fuel hoses from the gas tank to motor. The tanks have three spouts one of them obviously connects to the filler neck and another has a aluminum fitting with a threaded hole on the side. The last spout has nothing on it .

The vent hose will hook to the permanently installed gas tank (typically via a brass barb fitting) and to a small screened vent line fitting in the top of the boat's gas compartment. It simply allows the tank to "breathe" as the gas volume expands and contracts within the tank due to changes in the fuel's temperature.

If you'll look at a permanent fuel tank, you'll see a tube that the 5/8in vent hose connects to, you then make your hole large enough for the vent piece, put on the washer and nut, and tighten it down and connect the hose to that fitting.
