junk purchased 2 tanks for my pontoon filled both tanks twice 1st tank broke at the bottom of threads on filler neck stopped using, 2nd tank broke in same place after 4 more fill ups $200.00 in the lake went back to my old tanks they were just faded any way. April 3, 2011
Moeller 3 gal. fuel tank This little 3 gal. fuel tank by Moeller is just what I've been looking for. Should have bought one years ago! I'm 63 yrs. old and lifting heavy items such as full 6 gal. gas tanks & heavy duty trolling motor batteries is getting harder every day. Those big tanks also do not fit between my seat and boat transom but this small tank couldn't fit any better. I won't have to worry about running out of gas because I don't take my jon boat out on big lakes fishing or very far in the back waters duck hunting anyway. If you're having some of the same problems I had, give this Moeller tank a try. June 20, 2013
A good product I did not put enough teflon tape on gas line connector to seal the threaded connection. Consequently pressure built up in the tank and gas started leaking out around the threads. Re-taped the threads and problem was solved. This tank is designed differently than original gas tank that came with my Yamaha 25hp. It's a pressure tank. So you must read the instructions tag on the tank to understand how it functions and how to bleed off the pressure before opening the gas cap. Frankly, while the tank is of high quality I think it's overkill to have a pressure tank. July 23, 2014
Moeller Marine Products 360 Series Portable Fuel T I purchased the Moeller 3 gal. gas tank to replace my 15 year gas tank. What a mistake. I should of kept my old gas tank. I felt there where some design flaws. It says it's a 3 gal tank which it is but they should of made a 3.3 gal tank since you when you mix your 3 gal oil and gas ratio it does not overflow. Secondly the NPT connector that rises out of the tank is not tall enough to easily thread the gas line quick coupler. Make it a 1/2 taller. Also it seems the pressured fuel tank/cap causes some issues since it continuouly leaks at the NPT to Tank connection. And lastly the new pressured tank caused some issues with my older outboard motor which left me stranded. Not sure exactly what the cause is but I switched back to my second gas tank (older) and the motor started. Same Gas/Oil in both tanks? November 6, 2014
