The modern iteration of the legendary Mitchell 300 spinning reel retains properties like durability, reliability, and smoothness that it's famous for, in a fully modernized package. The innovative composite Bail Halo completely surrounds the rotor, giving the bail-support arm a fully ringed shape instead of the typical crescent shape seen on nearly every other spinning reel. This adds significantly to the strength of the assembly while only increasing weight by a fraction of an ounce. It also sports a machined, double-anodized aluminum spool, 8 bearing system includes instant anti-reverse, a powerful multi-disk drag system, and an aluminum handle with a co-molded knob.

  • 7 bearing plus instant anti reverse
  • Innovative Bail Halo
  • Aluminum handle with co-molded knob
  • Multi-disk drag system
  • Machined double anodized aluminum spool

Best reel I have ever owned I was introduced to the Mitchel 300 by my cousin's husband in 1966 when fishing and I was cussing out my tangled line. He let me throw his Mitchel 300 and I fell in love with it. The very next pay day I bought my 300 and I used it from 1966 until 1997 without any problems. At that time someone stole it along with the rest of my fishing equipment. All I had left was one pole and another brand of spinning reel that happened to be stored in my garage. I used that combination for one summer and vowed I would have another 300 by spring. that was 1998 and in 1999 I replaced the 300 with a new one and in 2001 after much complaining by my wife I got her one too. Best troublesome, smooth operating reel I have ever owned. There may be some better for all I know, but I can't spend $199 on a reel and for the price this is the best! September 8, 2014
Only adequate Rubber cover on handle came off after only 1 season. Bail closes only after some coaxing (if turning handle). Reasonably smooth overall. A decent but not outstanding starter reel. July 29, 2014
Mitchell 300 This is a great reel, very smooth and good drag. It is well worth the money July 17, 2014
Great Reel This reel is smooth, and the drag is tight ( doesn't slip) . Just got done fishing with it and had no problems. Whenever I tell other anglers what type of reel I purchased, they tell me that they have friends and family members that have used Mitchell for a long time and will not stop any time soon. All in all this is a durable reel. July 3, 2014

Details:
In the specs mention that has 8 ball bearings (like de New Mitchell 300 ) but in the description indicate 10 ball bearings (like the New Mitchell 300 PRO ). Is this model 300 or 300 PRO ?
Based on the price and photo, I suspect that is the NEW MITCHELL 300, not 300 PRO.

I attach a 300 PRO photo (from fishmitchell.com)
Thanks
