Well all I can say is that the trolling motor is at the bottom of the lake. First off the trolling motor is very noisy for my standards, as well as the electric steering. I was going across the water at 50mph on the way to next spot and the trolling motor decided to deploy itself. Should I have lowered the sleeve and tightened probably but who has time to be lowering the sleeve every time the want to move. That is a big pain. Well needless to say it was ripped from the front of my boat now swimming with the fish. I have had this for about a year and became more noisy as time went on. Not to blame Minn Kota because they do build good motors but I think these are a poor design to begin with. They hang off the front of boat and can deploy by themselves due to design. The locking sleeve will prevent this but it is a pain to be moving it up and down all day. So if you dont fish Tourney's and have time to mess with it, by all means try your luck. Trust me go with cable steer and save time and money. I will be getting a cable steer for sure. But the shaft did not snap thus causing it to be ripped off. The shafts are indestructable.

this motor works great, the only thing i would change is i would add a handle to the head of the motor so u can grab it when ur deploying it. it sometimes slams down to fast. Overall the motor performes great when i need it. and there is lots of bells and whistles.

this trolling motor pulls my riverpro jet boat around great. its a pretty heavy boat and i run in fast current. i installed it myself with no problems. i would have given 5 stars if it came with the i pilot for this price.

I would not normally contribute my opinion but this motor with AP and Remote Control is awsome. I used it for 6 hrs straight with the smaller footprint batterries (75 Amp Hour) and it still has pleanty of battery life to go again. I enjoyed the AP function which allows you to concentrate on fishing rather than driving. The remote control is by far the best option yet. I do have a couple of negatives to add. The total decked out price is too high. Unfortunately reviews like this will not help. The US2 sonar option will require more research than Minn Kota will admit. The adapter cable doesn't seem to work with all models of Fish Finders they indicate on the adapter cable package - beware or you will be out even more money for a new FF.
