Rated 3 out of 5 by mstirr1 Pretty Good Product I purchased and installed the talon on my 19' Nautic star CC exactly one year ago. When I first installed and used this product it was the best thing since sliced bread, No more mud in the boat! Now after a year and many battery changes in remotes, the constant disassembly of the bottom plate and removal of unit from the support mount so that you can clean mud out as it does bind this unit up constantly and now it seems the second stage constantly hanging up on the bottom plate and the agrivation when it does hang up which seems to be every third time I deploy it. The unit seems to have bent on the second stage and I question now the durability over the next year. I think I should have purchased a power pole as this product seems to be more of a hastle than my buddys power pole as we purchased at the same time. July 3, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by MichaelinLouisiana Best Purchase Ever for My Boat !! I installed them on my boat my self, It was easier than installing a fish finder. No pumps, no hassel, 4 bolts and 2 wires each unit. On the water they work perfect. Set sideways in the current so every one can fish down river. Spot red fish in shallow water get ahead of them coast in hit the remote the boat stops and u have already made the cast and hooked up, while others are trying to get trolling motor in the water. The alarm is so soft there is no need to hook that wire up. I can not hear it at all !! The remotes are wonderful. I placed one each side of sterring wheel and a 4 way remote on my wrist . Rated 5 out of 5 by dougsavy As Advertised First it truly is easy to install. I installed it only to find that my boat's deck overhang didn't allow for perpendicular installation. I contacted Minn Kota and was told this was important due to the need to be able to pivot around the pole without breaking it. Ordered the 6" riser extension and reinstalled it. This did the trick and it works great. I do have a criticism. I bothered to run the green wire to a switched leg to allow for the alarm function. The alarm is so weak (Minn Kota admitted this was a fact) - you have to concentrate to hear it which defeats the point of an alarm. Not worth the effort to install this wire for the alarm unless you have the hearing of a mouse. March 26, 2012
