I just purchased a new Big O bass boat made in Florida with the new 80 lb hand control 62" shaft motor. In Florida lakes, there is more grass and stuff you can shake a stick at. With the delay start on these motors, if your in the thick stuff you cant get out with out lifting and cleaning the motor every time. I hope our local trolling motor guys can by pass the slow start. If not I will be getting another trolling motor. If your looking for a great bass or flats boat check out the Big O boats in Okeechobee.

I had one of these on a 24 ft Fish Master boat/225 Suzukki to replace a very unsatisfactory Minn Kota 24 volt Rip Tide Remote control trolling motor. It was a great motor and moved this big/heavy boat with ease...was good on batteries also

Wonderful trolling motor,,but needs to be mounted very level,,side to side, and front to back,,,had to replace in side guide bushings inside of mount several times, i had to finally polish the outside of the mono arms sharp edges rubbing the bushing guides, if they catch the pull the bushings out after one time of catching..otherthan that it is great.

100% GREAT MOTOR... I run the 80 lb on a 18 foot Panga Marine skiff. The ease of use is amazing. The gas assist deploy and stow function is unlike any other on the market (TWO FINGERS). With the variable speed it will slow troll the lakes and rips through the heavy flow in the salt. I love this product and know you will too...

You need 50+ in. Will depend on how tall you are and how much you want to lean down. I believe a little inconvenience in leaning down is more desireable because of the pounding the motor takes in rough water. Seems to hold up better!Answers

A 3X80 motor refers to an 80 pound thrust motor with the 3X steering. I can't see any reason why you would HAVE to have 3X steering, it funtions the same as a standard steer, only takes less turning radius of the handle.Top 10 Contributor

I have no idea what a 3X80 Minn Kota trolling motor is...probably just means a 80lb thrust.1 of 1
