This motor came as part of a Lund boat package. It's the worse trolling motor I have ever used.
It is very difficult to get in and out of the water. I have to get down on my knees so I can push the motor into the water. Very difficult for 70 year old knees. Why did Minn Kota take away the rope approach to lowering and raising the trolling motor?
The foot control is too small. When I put my big foot on the foot control I can't use the power switch without moving the motor one way or the other. When I have to use it continuously, I have to put it in my lap and use my hands.
I'm taking it off my boat and installing an old trolling motor until I can afford to buy a new motor.

Was in Canada when my Maxxum gave up the ghost after 14 years of flawless operation. Decided to go with the V2 as it was in stock and I was thinking ahead to i-pilot. I could see right away that the deployment system was going to be a problem so I had the dealer tie a rope handle to the shaft. Helps a lot. The foot pedal controls are opposite those on the Maxxum, an issue soon overcome but the control is super sensitive. Any slight movement or even moderately rough water can cause unwanted stearing. I ended up with the foot control in my lap and stearing by hand. Will install the i-pilot this Spring and hope that eliminates those problems. Coating the shaft with a bit of grease works better than the spray-ons recommended and also last longer.

It is a never ending headache. I have destroyed 2 transducer cables due to the slide down design and not the rope pull up like I'm use too. The wires are constantly losing ground on the inside of the trolling motor nothing I did. I have to take the top off and press it down to the ground. I hate this trolling motor. It is not worth the 700 plus dollars. I wish someone had wrote a review like this before I bought mine. Good luck with your decision.

I received this trolling motor and immediately installed in on a Tracker Pro Team 185. When I took the unit to the lake I noticed that the unit seemed to make an excessive amount of noise. I contacted Bass Pro and they immediately sent a replacement unit which I now have installed. The noise from the motor itself is much better but the steering motor is still noisy. The only other problem that I have experienced is with the foot pedal which sometimes does not want to work.
