I bought the Minn Kota MK110P because my boat only came with a 2 bank onboard charger that does it's duty taking care of the 2 trolling batteries. Learned that the cranking battery is powering my electronics and livewells, so seeing as most of the time I don't run the big motor enough to keep this battery in the shape it needs to be I opted to get this charger for that duty. It was cheaper than replacing the onboard charger to a 3 or 4 bank charger and does the same multi levels of charging and maintenance. Figured also with this charger being portable I could always use it for car batteries too. I'm real happy with the charger and the purchase, unit is quality made and lightweight. Very pleased!

Bought this charger for a group 27 deep cycle battery and Minnkota Troller that I use on rented jon boats. Was using a cheap auto store charger but was worried that it would kill the deep cycle battery. This charger has 3 stage charging so you just attach the leads, turn it on, and walk away. My trolling motor just keeps going and going and I can go miles in a rented jon with no worries about my battery going flat. Went 6 miles last trip out and still had plenty of juice.

Can you plug this into a power converter on your boat and charge your trolling motor while running?

I'm not sure if I fully understand your question, but you likely could (if the fuse is large enough), but it would be a net waste of efficiency (1st law thermodynamics). Why run the engine to power outlets to power a charger to charge the battery when you can go direct off the engine alternator to your battery? Less steps, less waste.Hope this was helpful

I have a good charger but the cooling fan is very loud....pretty much impossible to sleep in the same room when it's on. Does this one also have one and if so is it really loud?Answers

NO VERY OUIET.........A:Â
There is not an actual fan. They do have heat dissipation systems set up so it does not overheat, but not a physical fan that would make noise.Answers

MUST HAVE 110V OUTLETA:Â
I don't think so......you have to plug the MinnKota charger into an electric outlet, how are you going to do that while on your bassraider???? If you mean can you leave the battery in the boat while you charge it, yes you can.A:Â
No, this does not charge while the boat is running. This is plugged in to the AC to chargeAnswers

YESA:Â
Yes, it can be used for deep cycle batteries. This charger and others like it with 3 charging modes (bulk charging, adsorption charging, and maintenance charging) are the best to use with deep cycle batteries.A:Â
Absolutely. This charger and others like it with 3 charging modes (bulk charging, adsorption charging, and maintenance charging) are the best to use with deep cycle batteries. The unit is totally automatic switching the charging mode all by itself. The only other thing you can do to help keep your battery healthy other than using this charger is to charge your batteries right away after you use them. Leaving them in a discharged state allows sulfate contaminents to foul the plates of the battery and prevent it from being fully charged in the future and lower the output amps when being used. Buy this charger and use it as soon as you get home from the lake. What could be easier.A:Â
