Minn Kota® Fortrex® Bow-Mount Trolling Motors
''The new Minn Kota Fortrex is absolutely the toughest, smoothest, and quietest trolling motor on the market. It's practically bulletproof.''

Minn Kota® Fortrex® Bow-Mount Trolling Motors feature an innovative mono-arm design, Counter-Tension Stabilizer (CTS), Lift Assist, indestructible composite shaft, streamlined foot pedal, and digital maximizer™.
Innovative Mono-Arm Design
Features an extruded structural beam that operates with no metal-to-metal contact and 75% less torsion. A single hinge point and rear pivot bearing with 20% more surface area deliver less wear, longer life, and quieter operation than traditional scissor mounts. Counter-Tension Stabilizer (CTS). A Minn Kota exclusive! Integrated spring arm applies force in both the stowed and deployed positions, eliminating motor play and reducing noise. Reduces steering torque at higher speeds or in heavy chop.
Lift-Assist
Patented design cuts the weight of stow and deploy in half. Features a 300 series stainless steel, nitrogen gas-charged spring.
Indestructible Composite Shaft
Pound for pound, stronger than steel. Flexes on impact. Will not break, kink, or corrode. Guaranteed for life.
Streamlined Foot Pedal
The redesigned foot pedal creates more space for your foot, while keeping the momentary button within easy access. In addition, the speed control has been re-designed to provide for easier adjustment.
Digital Maximizerâ„¢
Up to five times longer run time on a single charge. Controls the draw of power at variable speeds to conserve battery power and extend run time.
Removable Bowguard 360º™
Allows the motor and bowguard to be lifted off the mount simply by removing a single cap screw. This feature also includes a dual bearing system that eliminates noise and allows for improved breakaways from any angle.

This was the best decison that I could make on
replacing my edge trolling motor. Easy to install,
easy to operate and, because that I fish heavy grass
areas, strong enough to get anywhere that I want to go.
However, trying to order online and trying to take advantage of the 6 pay program along with getting it delivered when and where I needed was a nightmare.

I had a moterguide touradition82 on my boat and
had problems with it and it cost me a tournament.
Had it checked out by service center would cost as
much as a new one. Decided to by minkota maxmum80. Much easer to steer and overall
extremely much more satisfied with new motor.
Well satisfied with BassProShops as they had my new moter at my home in 4 days

Recently, I purchased the new 80# Fortrex bow mount to replace the older Maxxum 70# that I was using. First, installation was easy as all of the mounting holes correlated with the old motor. Second, I like the infinitely variable speed control. Third, the motor is quieter than my old motor. And, lastly, the piston assist for raising/lowering is sure easier on the back. The only item that I didn't like, is that the rope handle has no attachment point on the motor anywhere, to preclude it blowing around when running from spot to spot with the big motor.

I've always liked Minn Kota motors but the Fortex is the best that I've ever had it is super quiet and better on your back after all day of fishing and lifting a trolling motor up and down. But probadly the best thing I really like is the what I call flopping when you turn side to side with this motor there is none ever when it is on high the Fortex is solid as a rock. If you see one on a friends boat ask them to let you try it I promiss you will be satified I would recommend this motor to any one Thanks Minn Kote for a great motor

Both units use the same Bowguard 360° mount. Therefore, it will mount the same. Thankshttp://www.minnkotamotors.com/advan...

I have a humminbird HD with Down Imaging GPS on the bow and I'm worried the built in transducer may not be as good as the Humminbird one. Also I may up grade to a Down and Side imaging sonar. Anyone run into this or have a problem? I will go another rout if I have to mount my Humminbird one to it.Answers

The built in transducer is great BUT you cannot use it for down or side imaging. You must mount your down/side imaging transducer to the trolling motor.A:Â
The Universal Sonar 2 delivers exclusive fish finding features from uncluttered, interference-free sonar. With the shielded cable connectors, it should virtually eliminate the possibility of sonar interference. We have not heard of any other customers having problems when using the built in transducers. You might use the Down and Side imaging sonar for a better readout. ThanksDetails:Â
