Minn Kota® Fortrex® Bow-Mount Trolling Motors feature an innovative mono-arm design, Counter-Tension Stabilizer (CTS), Lift Assist, indestructible composite shaft, streamlined foot pedal, and digital maximizer™.
Innovative Mono-Arm Design
Features an extruded structural beam that operates with no metal-to-metal contact and 75% less torsion. A single hinge point and rear pivot bearing with 20% more surface area deliver less wear, longer life, and quieter operation than traditional scissor mounts.Counter-Tension Stabilizer (CTS). A Minn Kota exclusive! Integrated spring arm applies force in both the stowed and deployed positions, eliminating motor play and reducing noise. Reduces steering torque at higher speeds or in heavy chop.
Lift-Assist
Patented design cuts the weight of stow and deploy in half. Features a 300 series stainless steel, nitrogen gas-charged spring.
Indestructible Composite Shaft
Pound for pound, stronger than steel. Flexes on impact. Will not break, kink, or corrode. Guaranteed for life.
Streamlined Foot Pedal
The redesigned foot pedal creates more space for your foot, while keeping the momentary button within easy access. In addition, the speed control has been re-designed to provide for easier adjustment.
Digital Maximizer™
Up to five times longer run time on a single charge. Controls the draw of power at variable speeds to conserve battery power and extend run time. Universal Sonar 2
Dual beam capability (with all Humminbird® DualBeam PLUS™ and select Lowrance® and Garmin® units) provides expanded coverage and greater bottom detail at 83 kHz and 200 kHz. Temperature-sensing compatibility with all major sonar brands. Integrated, concealed transducer is protected from the elements.
Removable Bowguard 360º™
Allows the motor and bowguard to be lifted off the mount simply by removing a single cap screw. This feature also includes a dual bearing system that eliminates noise and allows for improved breakaways from any angle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SouthwestBassman Nice Motor
Bought this to replace an old Motorguide and have no regrets. The motor is easy to lower and raise and steers much more easily than the old Motorguide. They've taken a lot of the "torque steer" out and I really enjoy that. The motor is kind of bulky on the bow of the boat and that is kind of a drawback.

Rated 5 out of 5 by drifter106 Fortrex 80 lb 52 in us2
Have owned this for about a year. Coming from a 12 24 evinrude. Considering I had been using 20 year old technology, this trolling motor made more of an impression on me. Very easy to deploy and store. US2 works with my Lowrance with no problem....foot pedal controls speed and direction adequately. The latch that locks the arm in position required some silicone (dry) but other than that it has done everything that I expected it to do. Highly recommend it if your looking for a cable drive TM

I just purchased another Minn-Kota from BPS. I bought the 80# Fortrex, foot controlled, 62" shaft. This one replaced the Maxxum (same specs). I am a crappie guide in N. Texas and depend on my equipment to make my living, and Minn-Kota has never let me down. I run a 18' Lund boat and the Minn-Kota handles that size boat with ease. My local Bass Pro didn't have one in stock when I went to buy it, so I called BPS and I had my new motor in 5 working days. I couldn't be more pleased with Bass Pro and Minn-Kota.

Easy assembly.Easy installation. Now the bad part
the don't tell you that you need a special adapter cable to hook up to your electronics. The cable I needed was an additional 40 dollars. Also the rope to release trolling motor is extremely tough to disengage the motor to put into the stowing position.
