''The new Minn Kota Fortrex is absolutely the toughest, smoothest, and quietest trolling motor on the market. It's practically bulletproof.''
         Alton Jones
         2008 Bassmaster Classic® Winner
Minn Kota® Fortrex® Bow-Mount Trolling Motors feature an innovative mono-arm design, Counter-Tension Stabilizer (CTS), Lift Assist, indestructible composite shaft, streamlined foot pedal, and Digital Maximizer™.
Innovative Mono-Arm Design
Features an extruded structural beam that operates with no metal-to-metal contact and 75% less torsion. A single hinge point and rear pivot bearing with 20% more surface area deliver less wear, longer life, and quieter operation than traditional scissor mounts.
Counter-Tension Stabilizer (CTS).
A Minn Kota exclusive! Integrated spring arm applies force in both the stowed and deployed positions, eliminating motor play and reducing noise. Reduces steering torque at higher speeds or in heavy chop.
Lift-Assist
Patented design cuts the weight of stow and deploy in half. Features a 300 series stainless steel, nitrogen gas-charged spring.
Indestructible Composite Shaft
Pound for pound, stronger than steel. Flexes on impact. Will not break, kink, or corrode. Guaranteed for life.
Streamlined Foot Pedal
The redesigned foot pedal creates more space for your foot, while keeping the momentary button within easy access. In addition, the speed control has been re-designed to provide for easier adjustment.
Digital Maximizer™
Up to five times longer run time on a single charge. Controls the draw of power at variable speeds to conserve battery power and extend run time.
Universal Sonar 2
Dual beam capability (with all Humminbird®  DualBeam PLUS™  and select Lowrance® and Garmin® units) provides expanded coverage and greater bottom detail at 83 kHz and 200 kHz. Temperature-sensing compatibility with all major sonar brands. Integrated, concealed transducer is protected from the elements.
Removable Bowguard 360º™
Allows the motor and bowguard to be lifted off the mount simply by removing a single cap screw. This feature also includes a dual bearing system that eliminates noise and allows for improved breakaways from any angle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great item! Replaced a MG Pro tour that would only work every now and then. Best investment ever! Have a 20 ft. triton and this motor moves it very smoothly. No more jerking and banging like the MG! Quiet running, easy to install, and a top quality motor. August 12, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Trolling Motor After I quit using Motor Guide products for abvious reasons 5 years ago I purchased my first Fortrex. I have put it to the test. I hung it on a stump 3 years ago fishing a tournament at full speed and the head exploded into pieces as you would expect. I didn't have time to get it repaired to finish the tournament so I purchased my second Fortrex. I sent the original Fortrex back to the factory and they went through the entire trolling motor and repalaced everything with new components including the transducer and mount at no charge. I recieved it back within a week. I currently have my spare Fortrex at the factory because the shaft bearing had come loose. They are replacing it with a new one. I am pretty rough on the trolling motor but it has taken alot of punishment. I can't say enough about the great servive I have recieved from the factory. FYI for you guys. I talked to the Minn Kota Rep at a recent tournament and was told they are going through some major growing pains since Johnson Outdoors acquired Minn Kota and Humminbird. Some of you may have experienced issues with customer service on these two products but I was insured that they are listening to the customers and this is being worked within the company. Rated 4 out of 5 by Upgrade I am convinced Minnkota makes the best product out there. Had a Maxxum that I tried to make into a pretzel ( Even the best are not indestructable ) needed a replacement so I went with the Fortrex with Universal sonar. I love it, the lift assist is great, the motor runs quiet and I get very good life out of my batteries. Only caution I would have is to make sure you order the correct adapter for your electronics. A:
Measure from the mounting surface to the waterline. For rough water conditions, add 5” to the waterline measurement. For hand-control trolling motors, add 12” to Recommended Shaft Length.
