Rated 5 out of 5 by jomish Very reliable still after 6 years
Bought the 40lb, 36" Edge over six years ago and ran it on a 14ft flat bottom for 4 yrs and now on a 16ft deep-v for almost 3 years. It has been a super dependable motor without ANY issues. It has seen countless hours, some saltwater, heavy weeds, strong current, and still runs just like new with plenty of power, even up river. Once used to the foot pedal design, i found it very simple and much easier to control than the models with electric directional motor controls. I can only hope the newer Edges are as reliable as the one I bought...some day I may need a new one, but not yet.

Rated 2 out of 5 by chrisdcd Not built to last
I've had the trolling motor for a year. About 2 months ago it stopped working. I brought it a dealer per Minn Kota and they fixed it, said it was the switch. Easy enough. I got it back and it worked ok for a few fishing outings, then it seemed like it was losing power. Until this weekend it just stopped working again. Pretty aggravated because it happened on a really windy day and I had driven over an hour to get to where I wanted to fish. Its not a dependable trolling motor, not built last for sure. The switch seems to be cheap because that is where I continue to have the problems. I wouldn't buy another edge. So far Minn Kota has been pretty understanding and helpful.

Rated 4 out of 5 by quack3 good buy
I bought this to go on a tracker tx-17. I think its a good buy so far. Quiet and plenty of power. It doesn't come with the prop that's in the picture. I'm satisfied so far.

Rated 4 out of 5 by michaelk very nice trolling motor
FIrst of all, I am glad I made this purchase, and based on comparable trollers, I would choose this one again. My only two concerns have to do with using this motor with my type of boat (Lund Mr. Pike) and my height. I find it difficult to use the momentary foot control without changing direction og the motor. Second, I would like longer power leads so I could position the foot control in more locations based on the direction I am fishing and traveling.
