Excellent I wasn't sure what exactly I was buying, and wasn't sure if this wasgoing to bbetter that the aluminum bracket. I am gald I bought the composite bracket. Very easy to install and very easy to release the trolling motor. The "Puck" that is left on my boat when I take te motor off is small and not in the way. My kids love to jump off of the front of the boat and the Puck will not be in their way, and they can not get hurt. Well worth the money. I have a 2008, 1850 Fish and Ski Crestliner May 8, 2010
Quick-release makes tarping easier I have this on the bow of my Lund Mr. Pike 16. The bow mount area is a piece of carpeted plywood. The base will cause the plywood to bow making alignment with the motor difficult, but I suppose that is more of a boat problem and less of a product problem. It makes for an extremely tight fit, which is a double edged sword. It makes for little play, however it makes it difficult to slide in the U-bolt. Overall I like it and would recommend this to anyone. It's worth the price. April 28, 2010
easy install easy to install. makes removing motor easy. very low profile. little expensive. does not include a lock . April 27, 2010
Minn Kota Quick Release Trolling Motor Mount This is a pretty straightforward product to quickly mount and dismount your trolling motor. It works well, installs easily, and has good positive location. I am a little concerned with it's long term durability as I have a 70# thrust motor. It does flex a little when the motor head is full bore at 90 degrees. Time will tell but the ability to quickly mount and remove the motor would be worth replacing it every 5 years or so should that be the case. April 22, 2010

wasn't just a head replacement. I had to buy the Whole thing new. Got a Riptide ST/55 w/ I pilot and planned to install. Now I found I dont have enough distance to clear the bow and was wondering 'for my boat will this bracket help me clear the front. Brian

I have attached the dimensions of the ST and the quick release plate you would have to measure and see if it fits. If you are still unsure you may have to contact the boat dealer to see how they normally install them. Thanks

Yes. You'll need the plate if you have already installed your trolling motor. Otherwise you will se 4 screw holes when the motor is off.

When there is carpet, or a rise from the bow to the gunwale. Carpet does not allow you to push the piece, mounted to the motor, down far enough to lock it in place.
