Minn Kota® Composite Quick-Release Trolling Motor Mounting Brackets
minn kota mount
let me first start off by saying it is a good concept but it was extremely time consuming to install. Don't just dive head first into it, you should test fit first. The way my bow is welded and shaped it is not exactly flush so I had to figure out a way to true it up and that was a pain in my rear end. Lets just say I got it mounted just to figure out the holes wouldn't line up on the mounting bracket. So this started the rest of my 6 hour install.

Worked well - few issues
The unit worked great but the stainless steel hardware that came with it worked below par.
I had to remove the bolts for a minor adjustment and 2 bolts broke off.
Also the velcro strap that you originally get barely fits, but it still does do the job.
Overall I am happy. I can now put my cover back on my boat.
Just an FYI. Buy this, before or when you are getting your trolling motor. If not, you will have to cover up 4 holes on your boat.. It will take away an inch of trolling length as well - no big deal though..

Ordered this quick release mount from Bass Pro on the recomendation of people at the Minn Kota factory. Minn Kota recomended the wrong mount for my application. Bass Pro was great to order from. We will be returning the mount and purchasing the correct one from Bass Pro.

I recently tricked out my duck boat(1650 Triton with 35hp Mudbuddy HD) so I could access some hidden away spots for crappie in the spring. After getting the bowmount trolling motor on, I realized that was going to be a real pain taking it on and off between hunting and fishing trips. A buddy told me about this quick release and behold was the answer to my problems. If you have a boat that you use for recreation other than fishing, but you still want to maintain the fishability of the rig, just get this quick release and the trolling motor will be out of the way in seconds and back on in seconds when you need it.
