The throat mic was very tight out of the box. I hit it with a hair dryer, and stretched it out a fair bit. After that it fit nicely. I also tossed the ear piece and replaced it with a Surefire Earpro EP5. A lot more comfortable.
When combined with the 2050 series radio set on whisper mode, it worked well. My transmissions were clear and loud enough to be heard. One big advantage was in high wind, this setup was still clear, unlike the typical boom mic. The initial price is a bit rough, but the quality is worth it in the long run.

Works on any two pin radio. I tried it on an older Motorola, as well as another style with good luck. The price is for one unit.

Per Midland web site, they only state the Earphone Dual Sensor Throat Mic with Discreet Ear Tube Audio and Tactical PTT - Model TH4 two-prong connector will work with most Midland GMRS (Compatible with GXT and LXT series radios). Single unit.Thanks
