  • Great early-season musky bait
  • Also excellent in warm water
  • Proven inline spinner action
The Mepps Musky Killer is a great early-season musky lure. Musky season opens early on many shallow northern musky lakes, and fishing these cold waters can be the key to early season action. A slow presentation is needed. Fish shallow bays and large flats of weeds early in the season with a Mepps Musky Killer. It's also an excellent warm water spinner for fishing over weeds with a rapid retrieve.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Great action This thing has great action chugging through the water. Only fished it for 3 hours. Didn't catch a muskie, but landed a few 2 pound smallmouth. January 9, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by <3 i love this lures for pike nothing like watching this get hammered by a huge pike July 15, 2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by In my Canada box I use these Mepps lures every summer fishing in Canada. Gear amounts are limited because of space, but I always have 6 of them in the box for the trip. Lately I've been using them in Florida as well and have found that big largemouth also will attack this lure. It's best for toothy fish used with a metal leader or at least heavy fluorocarbon. When fish hit these it is in attack mode and they fight like a demon. April 8, 2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by nice lures works well on pikes and muskies and great spinner April 1, 2009

Black with the red tail is wonderful. Also, I've had great success with Firetiger...don't know why because it doesn't look like anything that swims, but big bass and pike attack Firetiger.
