The Mepps Musky Killer is a great early-season musky lure. Musky season opens early on many shallow northern musky lakes, and fishing these cold waters can be the key to early season action. A slow presentation is needed. Fish shallow bays and large flats of weeds early in the season with a Mepps Musky Killer. It's also an excellent warm water spinner for fishing over weeds with a rapid retrieve.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Great spring bucktail Thsi bucktail really prduces during spring. Very good performance adn the paint does not chip off. Weeds do stop the lure form running but you can really burn this just above the weeds for some great action in the spring time. September 14, 2010

Black with the red tail is wonderful. Also, I've had great success with Firetiger...don't know why because it doesn't look like anything that swims, but big bass and pike attack Firetiger.
