I'm usually a fan of leather 6-way leashes for training and going out and about, but when I'm planning on spending a day out in the woods or anywhere my dogs will be mostly off-leash, this is my go-to. Great weight and material, easy to slip on and off quickly, and very durable! It also looks more tasteful than most field-ready slip leads I've used in the past.
However, I use this with my two 80-pound pups; the leash material is thick and heavy, and a bit unwieldy for the necks of very small dogs or puppies in training.

I was aware of Mendota products but had not owned any in the past. With a new Lab at home I decided to try them. Though I got carried away a touch and bought some products she'll have to grow into such as the collars ( one in blaze and the other camo) I couldn't help it. These are the best quality and best looking leash and collar's I have owned. The slip leash/English style trainer has worked well and already proving very functional in training and the leather trim, hardware and craftmanship of all their products are fantastic.
