If you train pointing dogs or versatile dogs, this is a solid check cord. You basically need a couple of things in a cc: #1. it must be stiff and not pliable to prevent tangling while working. This is one of the few stiff cords out there. #2. avoid metal fasteners at the snap which can hurt the dog's chin during a bump correction.
The loop at the end where the snap is located allows movement of the snap which is desirable when training to handle. This is exactly the type of cc that a pro would use, nothing more, nothing less...a good stiff cord of appropriate stiffness, thickness and quality, a snap with a loop and a knot.

Ive used this now for about 6 months. I like the check cord over all, and has held up well. But the company put little thought into how to connect the snap to the cord.

This has worked great for the water. My Baseji is afraid of the water, so I used this tool to be able to walk in the water and get him to follow me. It was long enough to tie a loop around the end for my waist and had plenty of room left to train him. He also enjoyed carying the rope back with him to shore. The clip came off the roap once. I had to tie a more secure knot. Would be nice to have a loop in the rope that it attached to.
