Mayfair Pro-Line Bilge Pump 4.6 5 11 11
a cheap pump if you need a pump that last 1 year, this is all you'll get.I've used these for 20years between Rule,Attwood or Mayfair. These are only 1 year pumps never more than a year out of each. June 6, 2012
Good workhorse I use these as bilge and livewell pumps. They are easily changed and cleaned. I am hard on equipment and I have been using this particular style pump for 20 years. October 28, 2011
Bilge Pump Replacement This was a easy replacement for me. The broken pump was a Mayfair and the mounting brackets are similar. All I had to do was take out the old and pop in the new. July 27, 2011
Not the first I've used this pump for years, tried other brands, but came back to the Mayfair. Ease of installation, dependability, all the things that make it easy to use, and a good safety net for getting water out of the boat. I replaced the factory original that came with the boat, a Mayfair 500 GPH, with the 750 model after one of my livewell pump inlets snapped off. I found the boat swamped, plugged the pump inlets with the pockets I ripped off my jeans, then ran the pump. It took awhile, but it got the water out. A 750 would have done the job quicker! I am sold on this product. I ruined one by leaving, accidentally, the pump switch on after the bilge was dry. Other than that, no problem! July 4, 2011

stops pumping water

Details:
I have the model 2270 and it pumps great for about 5 minutes then stops pumping water. The motor is still running. Any suggestions for correcting this or does there seem to be a problem with the pump itself.

A:
The pump may be losing prime from the sounds of this issue. Be sure that the bilge still has water in the area. If it does yet the pump is not pumping water, then the prime may be lost or the pump may be defective.

A:
No, it does not have a hose connection on the input side for this application. It would be damaged easily by sand/ gravel.

A:
No inlet hose connection. I can't see how you could use it for a dredge. The impeller turns really fast and I would think that any sand would damage it.
