I purchased this smoker for my husband for Christmas. Although it is 80 pounds, it is easy to move. Plenty of room inside for racks of ribs. Heats quickly and maintains temperature well. Cooks evenly.

I bought this smoker for myself for christmas. It is great. First week (2) boston butts, chicken quarters, and beef brisket. Second week (4) beer-can chickens and sausages. Third week (4) slabs of ribs, country style ribs, and again sausages. Next week Turkey. Temp control is great, stays moist, and you can control the smoke flow. Only problem is the wood-chips in the holder will catch fire if not watched. Fixed this by placing chips in pan with apple juice allowing smokey flavor and stem, which made the meat that much juicier. I love the NFL play-offs and bar-b-ques! Best purchase ever.

I bought this smoker thinking it would be easier to control the heat. It does that well but I had a problem keeping the temperature low enough for the first part of the smoking process. I realize it is probably warmer here in New Mexico than other parts of the country but I will have to think of some way to maintain a 140º temp. It would maintain 150º on the lowest setting which isn't too far off so I went with that. Other than that, it was simple to put together and use. Thanks for the quality product.

I bought this mainly to smoke fish fillets. After firing it up I was very disappointed in the heat setting it was so hot it wanted to bake my fish. When set on low it was way to hot and the other setting were out of the question. Then I found out that when I was turning off the propane by turning it to off real slow the flame could be adjusted down to zero. By doing this I could maintain 100* or even lower. It takes some practice to get the heat where you want it. The one thing you need to do is turn up the heat to high and get the chips smoking and then turn it to your desired setting. The reason I am giving this a five star rating is it is a well built smoker has four huge racks. The only negative thing that I can say is the chip tray. I put a small mesh grate on top of the burner and used a coffee can works great.
