Updated for easier smoking the Masterbuilt Sportsman Elite Electric Smokehouse now features an easy-to-read blue LED display and a built-in viewing window. Thermostat temperature controls ensure even cooking temperatures up to 275°F. Smoker includes a wireless remote that controls temperature, time, internal light, ON/OFF, and monitors meat temperature from up to 100' away. Meat probe thermometer works with the remote, allowing you to stay inside while monitoring and adjusting the smoker outside! 1200 watt element. 40" smoker has four racks and also comes with wheels, handle, and a removable drip pan. Got this for Christmas and didn't use it until I caught some salmon. Heats for awhile and then get an error message. Customer service says the warranty is up (90 days) and I'll have to purchase any necessary parts. This is a very expensive smoker, comes with no recipe/cook book for smoking. Holes don't line up in the cheap metal. Wasted a lot of money on this. Maybe I can use it as a storage cabinet. Piece of junk.

Got this for Christmas . It heats n stuff
The temp probe reads 40deg high ,the temp drops 20 +deg between heat cycles but that temp reading is only 5 deg low of real temp. Recovery time is fair not great if it only bounced 10 deg I'd be happy but 20 is too much
I checked this by inserting 2 BBQ thermometers and one calibrated through the vent hole n tying them together (I have access to a calibrated thermo)
The three read with in 3 deg .the prob that is in the smoker is 40deg high
Also to note this was in a 70 deg room so not out in the cold
On the good side it makes nice clean smoke n looks good grates are nice
So don't trust the temp probe adjust for temp offset n it'll be just ok
Me I'm wiring better temp probes in both the heat and meat sensors cuz I'm stuck with this thing

I smoked a 12 lb turkey and a 8.5 Boston Butt roast and they both came out really good. Did find a couple of issues with it though, the temp thermocouple doesn't read accurately. I used dual Taylor temp probes and cooked by those. I needed two anyway because of he different cooking times. I guess if you learned how to cook with the offset it would be okay. The remote goes into power saver mode after a short period of time and you can't wake it up without reprogramming your cooking instructions again.

Excellent Smoker! Quality construction with just the right size - large enough to do a good amount of meat yet small enough to move around by one person when full. The constant temperature offered with electric heat provides a uniform smoke and the wireless remote is invaluable for checking the progress from the comfort of your recliner while the game is on! Even the purists among us will appreciate the convenience and results this smoker yields! Anyone want to buy my charcoal smoker?!
